01 / HEAT PUMP

Heat Pump Installation

Air-source heat pump, heating and cooling in one system. All-electric. Clark PUD lists up to $1,250 on a qualifying system replacing electric heat, but pays it only to installers in its Contractor Network, which we have not joined. The flat $900 ductless rebate is for homes heated by an electric furnace or electric zonal heat.

Our default recommendation: a low-profile side-discharge heat pump. It is the American Standard Silver 16, rated up to 16 SEER2 on R-454B, and its shallow cabinet fits tight side yards and can sit under a deck or window. Our higher tiers price the Gold 17 and Platinum 20, which use a traditional top-discharge cabinet.

03 / DUCTLESS

Ductless Mini-Split Installation

Mitsubishi ductless mini-split, single-zone or multi-zone (1–4 indoor heads). Ideal for homes without ductwork, additions, and zoned comfort. As a Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor, we register qualifying Mitsubishi systems such as the FX and Smart Multi for the 12-year extended factory warranty in owner-occupied homes (WX and HX models top out at 10 years).

ONE-TO-ONE

Single-zone systems

One outdoor unit paired to one indoor head. The simplest ductless setup: a single room, an addition, a garage, or a bonus room that never gets comfortable.

Multi-zone systems

One outdoor unit runs every head, and each head has its own thermostat. Cost scales with how many rooms you want to control.

THE INDOOR HEAD

Four ways to put it in the room

A “mini-split” is really a choice of indoor unit. Every one of these runs off the same outdoor unit, so you can mix them room by room: a wall head in the bedrooms, a floor unit under a bay window, a cassette in the open living room.

4-WAY CEILING CASSETTESLZ-Series

Capacity

Cost per head
More than a wall head

Our Standard and Mid-tier multi-zone systems use a ported MXZ-D outdoor unit (2 to 5 ports, one head per port). The Hyper-Heat tier uses a Smart Multi NLHZ, which drives up to eight heads; the MXZ-SM48NLHZ keeps its full 54,000 BTU/h heating output at 5°F, so that is the one we spec when a multi-zone job has to hold full heating capacity through a cold snap. Ported MXZ-D and Smart Multi systems carry Mitsubishi's 12-year parts and compressor warranty when we register them within 90 days in an owner-occupied home. If you want the equipment fully hidden with real ductwork, that is a ducted air handler rather than a mini-split. Ask and we will price it.

04 · Pricing questions

How our pricing works.

Plain-English answers to the questions homeowners ask first.

A complete heat pump installation in the Vancouver WA metro typically ranges from $8,800 to $27,200 installed, depending on home size and efficiency tier. Pricing includes equipment, labor, permits, line-set, thermostat, and commissioning. Final pricing requires a 30-minute in-home measurement.
A full AC + furnace split-system replacement in Vancouver WA typically runs $12,600 to $26,800 installed. High-efficiency and premium tiers cost more than the standard tier for the same home. Price includes new furnace, matched AC condenser and coil, line-set, thermostat, permits, and commissioning.
Ductless mini-split installation in Vancouver WA typically ranges from $4,800 to $19,300 installed, depending on the number of zones and efficiency tier. As a Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor, Pacific Peak registers qualifying Mitsubishi systems such as the FX and Smart Multi for the 12-year factory warranty in owner-occupied homes; WX and HX models top out at 10 years.
A gas furnace installation in Vancouver WA typically runs $6,400 to $13,300 installed, depending on furnace size and AFUE efficiency rating. Includes equipment, venting, gas connection, permits, and commissioning.
AC-only replacement in Vancouver WA typically ranges from $7,400 to $16,800 installed when the existing furnace is serviceable. A premium multi-speed AC costs more than a standard single-stage AC for the same home. Includes outdoor condenser, matched evaporator coil, line-set, and permits.
These are calibrated price ranges based on typical installed costs for Vancouver, WA metro HVAC projects in 2026. They include equipment, labor, permits, and commissioning. Final pricing varies based on ductwork condition, line-set routing, electrical service, and accessibility. Pacific Peak Mechanical provides a free, itemized written estimate after a 30-minute in-home measurement.
Yes. Quotes for new equipment installation (heat pumps, furnaces, AC systems, and ductless mini-splits) are free and itemized. Diagnostic service calls on existing equipment carry a flat trip charge disclosed upfront; if you proceed with the repair, that charge is usually applied to the job.
Clark Public Utilities pays a flat $900 on a qualifying ductless system, and your home has to be heated today by an electric furnace or by electric baseboard, wall or ceiling heat. The ducted rebate of $500 to $1,250 requires the installer to be in Clark PUD’s Contractor Network, which Pacific Peak has not joined, so we do not quote it. The federal 25C tax credit expired December 31, 2025 and does not apply to 2026 installs. Pacific Peak handles the paperwork for the rebates you do qualify for. See our full guide at the Clark PUD rebate breakdown.
