About our Portland work.

Portland is a different HVAC market from the Washington side — different utilities, different rebate program, different housing stock. We serve Portland neighborhoods across the river: the historic Craftsman and Foursquare homes of SE and NE, the newer multifamily of the Pearl and Central Eastside, and the established single-family neighborhoods stretching out to Gresham. Most of our Portland work is heat pump conversions in older homes.

Neighborhoods we work in.

  • NE (Alberta / Irvington / Sabin). Old Craftsman homes, limited ductwork, great candidates for ductless retrofits.
  • SE (Hawthorne / Division / Woodstock). Similar housing stock to NE; conversions from baseboard or oil heat are common.
  • North Portland / Kenton. Bungalows and early-20th-century homes, ductless is often the right answer.
  • Inner East / Buckman. Mix of older homes and newer multifamily; both get our attention.

Climate considerations specific to Portland.

Portland and Vancouver share essentially the same climate zone, so technical recommendations don’t change much across the river. The big difference is policy and cost structure — different utilities, different rebates, sometimes different permit processes.

Rebates and incentives in Portland.

Portland homeowners access Energy Trust of Oregon (ETO) incentives, which run differently from Clark PUD’s program. ETO heat pump incentives can reach $2,500+ on qualifying installs. We handle the ETO paperwork on Portland jobs the same way we handle Clark PUD on the Washington side.

Why homeowners in Portland pick Pacific Peak.

Portland permits through Bureau of Development Services (BDS) have slightly different timing than Clark County. We pull the permit before your install date and handle any city-specific questions directly with BDS.
