What’s in a Base Camp tune-up.
When we do a tune-up, we do a real tune-up — not the 20-minute "visual inspection" that some companies use to hit their quota. A Base Camp visit runs 60–90 minutes and covers the full manufacturer-recommended preventive maintenance checklist.
Every visit includes:
- Filter replacement or cleaning. Fresh, clean filters are critical for airflow and indoor air quality. We document which filter was used so you know what to buy between visits.
- Thermostat accuracy check. We verify your thermostat reads actual temperature correctly and communicates with the system properly. Calibration corrections when needed.
- Electrical connections & voltage test. Loose connections are one of the top causes of HVAC failure. We tighten, test, and verify — and flag anything showing wear.
- Condensate drain clearing. Clogged drains cause water damage and system shutdowns. We flush the line clear and verify the safety float switch is functional.
- Moving-part lubrication. Blower bearings, fan motors, and any serviceable mechanical parts get proper lubrication to reduce wear and noise.
- Full system startup & functional test. We run the system through a complete cycle — startup, operation, shutdown — to verify everything works under load, not just in idle.
- Visual inspection for wear, leaks, and corrosion. Catching problems early is cheaper than emergency repairs later.
- Written condition report. Every finding documented. You get a copy; we keep one on file.
Membership benefits included year-round.
- Priority scheduling. Members always get scheduled ahead of non-members. In peak season (July heat, January cold snaps) this is the difference between same-week and three-week wait.
- 10% off all parts and labor. On any repair, diagnostic, or add-on work beyond the annual tune-up.
- No trip charges. Ever. If we come out for any reason, no show-up fee on top of the work.
- Digital maintenance record. Every visit documented and attached to your property history. Useful if you sell the house — buyers notice.
Who Base Camp is a good fit for.
- Homes with a single system (furnace + AC, or one heat pump) less than 12 years old
- Owners who want to protect their manufacturer warranty (most require annual professional service to stay valid)
- Anyone who’d rather spend $189/year on prevention than $800 on an emergency in February
What Base Camp doesn’t include.
This plan is deliberately scoped. Not included:
- Coil cleaning or refrigerant-system service — these add significant labor; if you want them, look at Ridge
- Two visits per year — one Base Camp visit covers either your cooling or your heating, your pick. For both, look at Summit
- Rate protection on repair pricing — Summit includes this
Common questions.
When will my tune-up happen?
We’ll reach out at enrollment to schedule. Cooling tune-ups make sense April–May; heating tune-ups September–October. You pick which season fits your system best.
What if my system breaks between visits?
You call us, we dispatch with member priority, and you get 10% off the repair with no trip charge. If we recommend replacement, we roll your prepaid plan into credit toward the new install.
Can I upgrade mid-year?
Yes. Prorated upgrade to Ridge or Summit is available anytime. We’ll credit the remaining Base Camp value against the higher tier price.
